Project Description

The Southern Company Headquarter Building at 30 Allen Plaza was the first building developed in downtown Atlanta’s Allen Plaza mixed use neighborhood.  30 Allen Plaza is a 15-story, 264,853 square foot, Class A office building with retail amenities that include a white tablecloth restaurant and cafe.  Southern Company occupies 91% of the building.

J&A Engineering staff designed the security and access control systems for the new headquarters building in downtown Atlanta. Building Systems included intrusion detection, access control, CCTV surveillance, visitor management, executive security, optical turnstiles, and emergency intercom. J & A Engineering staff worked closely with building developer Barry Real Estate and Southern Company corporate security staff. The project created a central command center for the new high-rise building, and also allowed distributed control and monitoring through building network communications.
