January 9, 2018 marked the official opening of the new Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center, a $10.6 million “library of the future” located in Marietta, GA. The state-of-the-art facility was funded by $8.6 million in 2016 SPLOST funds, and a $2 million grant from the Georgia Board of Regents.
The new 28,000-square-foot facility holds more than just books. It includes study rooms, children’s and teen spaces, recording studios, a digital “makerspace” commons, an art gallery and art classrooms, an outdoor amphitheater, and a black box theater. J&A Engineering provided audio visual, acoustics, security and telecom design services for the project.
