This project involved the renovation of a large lecture hall in the Fine Arts Building. The design challenge is that the facility will be used to screen films in cinema classes as well as for typical lecture presentations. The solution was to incorporate a perforated video screen along with a full 7.1 surround sound audio system for cinema use. Room acoustics and sound isolation were developed for cinema use as well while a separate loudspeaker system supports the instructor’s voice during typical lecture presentations.
